Tinfoil Pigeons is a live aircraft radar run by Purple Ice Productions. This page explains what we collect, what we do not, and what you can do about it. We have tried to keep it plain.

The short version

We do not store your location. We keep no account for you. The only personal data we hold is what you choose to send us through the contact form, and we use that only to reply.

Your location

When you enter a postcode or town, or allow your device location, we use it once to work out what is flying overhead, and then it is gone. We do not store it, log it against you, or build a profile from it. To turn a postcode or place name into a map position we may pass it to a third-party geocoding service for that single lookup.

The contact form

If you message us, we receive what you type, including the optional "how to reach you" detail. We use it only to read and respond to your message, and we delete it once your query is dealt with. We do not add you to any marketing list.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It is privacy-first and cookieless: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint you, and does not track you across other sites. It tells us aggregate things like how many people visited a page and roughly which country or referrer they came from, never who you personally are.

Cookies

The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies.

Who processes data for us

Our site is hosted by Cloudflare, which also provides the analytics above. To show you flight details we query third-party data sources (for example aircraft route and photo lookups). These queries carry technical details such as an aircraft identifier or a place name, not your identity.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EU, you have rights over any personal data we hold, including access, correction and deletion. Since the only personal data we hold is contact-form messages, you can exercise these by emailing us at [email protected] and we will action it.

Children

Tinfoil Pigeons is a general-audience site and is not directed at children.

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
